🌎 Do you have a location-based business with more people outside of your city following you on social media? I can only imagine how frustrating that can be for you. You might be using the wrong hashtags or not sharing content that is important to people that live in your area.
As I always mention in most of my content, understand your audience before creating content to avoid feeling as if you are being unheard.
Read my new blog to find out helpful tips to get noticed by new customers in your city.
HOW I USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO ATTRACT CUSTOMERS IN MY CITY
I live in a a medium sized population of a city. So, I am blessed because most hashtags are not used in the millions which gives me a higher chance of getting noticed online.
I use airport code hashtags and the names of surrounding cities. You can also use provincial or state hashtags as well as names of pop culture words that people will understand.
I also recommend that you go into the Discovery or Explore page of each app. You need to communicate with people every day. Remember to click the Recent posts and not Top.
Only leave comments on posts that you appreciate and share something meaningful to stand out. The last thing you want to do is do post comments on every piece of content to get noticed if you truly do not feel inspired by someone's post.
Also, look for hashtags of your target audience and communicate with people at least one hour per day. Follow hashtags that are your potential clients use.
CONCLUSION
I highly recommend that you use this strategy every day even on holidays. You need to be persistent in grabbing peoples attention on oversaturated and popular apps without paying for advertising.
Instagram and Facebook only share a small percentage of our posts to followers. If you use Instagram Reels, you have a higher chance of getting seen on the Explore page to people outside of your followers.
